Although I have been owned by Ridgebacks since 1992, it wasn't until 2000 that I became actively involved in showing and breeding. Either way, my dogs are my pets - they come everywhere with me, they live in the house and sleep on our beds - I wouldn't have it any other way and, of course, neither would they!
Since I was very young, I have always taken animal ownership seriously, whether it was a gerbil or a horse, and I will continue to do so. I am proud of the fact that all of my dogs have earned their Canine Good Citizen certificates. With all of the horrible legislation against pet ownership that is trying to be passed both on the local level and worldwide - I feel it is crucial to be a responsible owner of this wonderful breed so that they can project their beauty to the general public in a manner that compliments their lives with me.
As a Ridgeback owner and breeder I am committed to the health and wellbeing of the breed. I only breed a litter very occasionally and when I do it is with the goal to produce healthy, well-socialized Ridgebacks with stable, loving temperments.
I am a member in good standing of the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of the United States (RRCUS), The New England Rhodesian Ridgeback Club (NERRC) and Gazehounds of New England (GONE). I am an active participant in RRCUS and currently hold the positions of Newsletter Editor, Regional News Coordinator and Medallion Chairperson. I have also held the position of Secretary for NERRC for the last 4 years.
